A woman recently shared a terrifying account of her experience with an Ola cab service on her way to Gurugram. She described the situation as “nightmarish” and raised concerns over passenger safety.
According to her, while traveling in the cab, she noticed two men standing ahead of the vehicle, gesturing for the driver to pull over to the left. Complying with their signals, the driver slowed down and stopped the car. The woman’s fears grew as she saw two more men arrive on bikes, surrounding the vehicle.
Sensing imminent danger, the woman immediately tried to take action. “I ran for my life,” she said, recalling the terrifying moments. In her panic, she attempted to use the SOS button on the Ola app for help. However, to her shock, the emergency feature failed to work, leaving her feeling even more vulnerable.
The woman also claimed that the cab driver appeared complicit in the situation, adding to her distress. Allegedly, the driver mentioned that his car loan EMI was overdue, leading her to believe he might have collaborated with the group of men.
This incident has raised serious questions about the safety features provided by cab aggregators and the reliability of their emergency response mechanisms. The failure of the SOS button, which is intended to offer immediate assistance during crises, has sparked outrage and concern among users of such services.
Further details of the incident are awaited, and authorities are being urged to investigate the matter thoroughly.
