Canara Bank tie up Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) for Cross Border Transactions

Canara Bank offered a new platform to NRIs to make bill payments on the behalf of their loved ones through Musandam Exchange. This cross-border bill payment is very useful for the indians living in oman will now easily make payment of bills like electricity, water, credit card bills , gas, mobile phone and more.

Canara Bank and NPCI Bharart Bill Pay Ltd have announced the cross border bill payment. Canara Bank is the first bank in india to offer cross-border bill payment through BBPS. Musadam Exchange is managed by Canara Bank of India and exchange house is live on Oman inbound bill payments.

The cross-border bill payment is already live in Kuwait. Kuwait is known for having a well-developed banking and financial sector, with several local and international banks, as well as payment service providers, operating in the country. These institutions may have introduced cross-border bill payment services as part of their efforts to provide convenient and efficient payment solutions to their customers.

In recent years, advancements in technology and the growing demand for digital financial services have also contributed to the expansion of cross-border bill payment services. Online banking, mobile banking, and fintech companies may have introduced or facilitated cross-border bill payment services to cater to the needs of consumers and businesses in Oman who require the ability to pay bills for services or utilities provided by entities located outside of Oman.
