This Year Budget is to Make India Hub of Research in Health Sector – PM Modi in Post-Budget Webinar

Under PM Modi’s leadership, the government has launched several healthcare initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat, which aims to provide health insurance to 500 million people in India. The program provides free medical treatment for certain illnesses and also covers hospitalization costs up to a certain limit. Additionally, the government has set up several medical colleges and increased the number of medical seats to address the shortage of doctors in the country. The government has also launched a program to provide free tuberculosis treatment to all patients in India.

PM Modi has emphasized the need for preventive healthcare, especially for diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cancer. He has urged citizens to adopt a healthy lifestyle and take proactive measures to prevent these diseases. Overall, PM Modi’s government has taken significant steps to improve healthcare in India, including increasing funding for healthcare, launching new initiatives, and promoting preventive healthcare.

At 10 am Narendra Modi Shares his thoughts on Post-webinar Budget on ‘Health and Medical Research.’ This year’s budget has given great priority to the health sector and in making India a hub for research and innovation in this field, PM Modi Said.

In Post-webinar Budget he talks about Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) is a flagship healthcare scheme launched by the Government of India in September 2018. It is also known as Ayushman Bharat scheme, and its aim is to provide financial protection to the underprivileged families in India by providing health insurance coverage. PM-JAY provides coverage of up to Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year, for secondary and tertiary healthcare hospitalization costs. This scheme is designed to cover about 10.74 crore poor and vulnerable families, which is approximately 50 crore individuals in India.

PM Modi also shared his thoughts on Ayushman Bharat, also known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, is a flagship healthcare scheme launched by the Government of India in 2018. The scheme aims to provide financial protection to the underprivileged families in India by providing health insurance coverage.

To support the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the government has undertaken various initiatives to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in the country. One of the significant initiatives under Ayushman Bharat is the creation of Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs).

Under this initiative, the government aims to establish 1.5 lakh HWCs by the year 2022. These centres are intended to provide comprehensive primary healthcare services, including preventive, promotive, and curative care. The HWCs are equipped with necessary medical equipment, diagnostic facilities, and essential drugs.

In addition to HWCs, the government is also promoting the establishment of new medical colleges and upgrading existing ones. The government has set a target of establishing at least one medical college for every three parliamentary constituencies. The government has also increased the number of MBBS and post-graduate medical seats in the country.

The government is also promoting the development of telemedicine infrastructure in the country. Under Ayushman Bharat, the government has launched the Telemedicine Initiative, which aims to provide healthcare services in remote and underserved areas through the use of technology.

MR Modi also said about “E-sanjeevani is a telemedicine platform launched by the Government of India in April 2020 to provide remote medical consultation services. The platform is part of the government’s efforts to promote digital healthcare services and make healthcare more accessible and affordable to people in remote and underserved areas. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the platform has completed over 1 crore teleconsultations as of December 2021. Overall, E-sanjeevani is a significant step towards promoting digital healthcare services in India and making healthcare more accessible and affordable to people in remote and underserved areas”.
