Twitter reviews policies around permanent user bans – FT Report

Twitter is an online platform to expressing personal views on entertainment, politics, educations and technology. Twitter is designed by Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone, Noah Glass, and Evan Williams in March 2006. It was successfully officially launched in July 2006. It is an American microblogging platform for that allow users to write their views and post which commonly known as tweet. The main headquarters of twitter is in San Francisco, California. In November 2017, the number of character limit was doubled to 280 from 140 characters, but this is only for non-CJK languages.  Like other messaging app (WhatsApp and Facebook) it also offers direct messaging service, audio and video tweet is limited to 140 seconds for some accounts.

Back in May, Elon Musk inking twitter at $44 billion and he pledged to change social media platform’s content moderation practices. Twitter is a social networking platform, exploring its moderation tools around permanent banning of users that could replace a ban, its toughest consequence for heretical rules, the newspaper said, citing multiple people familiar with the situation.

Elon Musk, who like to calls himself a free speech autocrat, had also said he would back on Twitter’s the former U.S. President Donald Trump. Last year in January, twitter suspended former president Donald Trumph account due to public pressure to provoke violence in the wake of the Capitol siege.

However, the FT report said any policy change would be unlikely to pave the way for Trump’s return to the platform since Twitter is not considering reversing bans issued for breaching its policy against inciting violence.
