Gurbani refers to the sacred writings and compositions found in the Guru Granth Sahib, the central religious scripture of Sikhism. It is considered the living Guru and the spiritual guide for Sikhs. Gurbani consists of hymns, prayers, and teachings of the Sikh Gurus, as well as contributions from other saints and religious figures from various backgrounds.
The Guru Granth Sahib contains hymns composed in various languages, including Punjabi, Sanskrit, and Persian, among others. The primary language used in the majority of the hymns is Punjabi, as it was the language spoken in the region where Sikhism originated.
Gurbani is considered a powerful and divine expression of spiritual wisdom and guidance. It covers a wide range of themes, including devotion, morality, ethics, the nature of God, human values, and the path to spiritual enlightenment.
